Woman cradles dying shelter dog in her arms all night so that he won’t pass away alone

There are millions of dogs out there that live in the streets, they spent their lives and their final moments all alone.

An animal shelter accepted a dying dog in, they thought making him comfortable and giving him food would be enough, but an animal lover did her best showing this dog in his final moments, that he was loved and appreciated.

Working with animals every day, Janine understands how important is for poor animals to understand that people care for them and they are loved, it’s hard to ensure all animals this but when she saw the pit bull Watson she knew what he needed.

Janine saw clearly that Watson was on his final moments, and all she could do for him was hugging him tight.

Janine Guido is the founder of Speranza Animal Rescue, in Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania, a non profit committed in helping the most neglected and mistreated animals finding homes.

She has encountered a lot of animals in their last minutes of their lives, and has a soft spot for injured and homeless dogs that spent their lives being neglected, never feeling loved.

A stranger brought Watson into the rescue center, he was covered in sores and had an inoperable tumor hugged him and did everything she could to make him feel comfortable, staying by his side all night long.

When morning came, she knew Watson was close to saying goodbye, and didn’t take long until he passed away.

“I’m just so thankful I was able to hold him tight for his last night,” Janine told The Dodo. “I was telling him how much he was loved — and that his life mattered. My heart is breaking, but I would not change a thing.”

It’s heartbreaking that Watson never received love throughout his life, but at least he got a glimpse of care in his last moments, we hope he is in a better place now.
